For years I have been meaning to start a blog for our ranch. Now there is so much information to share, it is so overwhelming I didn’t know where to start. Just have to start. It’s not going to be pretty. It’s not going to be perfect. Just start and tweak it as I go.
Hopefully people will find the site and find useful information, maybe get a chuckle or dry humor. If nothing else, I hope to be posting regularly to keep track of what we are doing and give us a reference, when we inevitably ask, “What happened with such and such last year?”
Farming and ranching is a yearly affair, things run in yearly (or more) cycles. Mistakes can be costly for years to come; and if you don’t remember what you did, it’s easy to make the same mistake twice, which means paying for more years.
Time to go make an About Us page and maybe get some pictures (I have thousands to choose from) up.
Spring is busy, busy with irrigation, breeding, and everything else that goes along when it warms up. Crazy busy. The blog will give me someone to share with 🙂 Would appreciate comments, questions, etc.
My God-given gift is teaching, so please ask questions! Warning: I sometimes explain things in great detail, so posts could get lengthy (rambling), and I am just going to type like I’m talking–which I am known to do from time to time–, instead of laying it all out in draft and then editing and doing something more formal. So I may be all over the place and like a firehose of info, but just take what you need and disregard the rest.
